Hi all.
If you don't know what dawn chorus is i will try and explain.
Basically dawn chorus is the morning song of the birds in spring before sunrise. In spring mainly male birds sing to attract females because it's breeding season. So in spring mornings before sunrise the lucky people who are awake have got the oportunity to listen to this magical sound.
So tell me what do you think about the dawn chorus. How do you listen to it. Do you listen outsite or do you stay in and listen through the window? What was the best dawn chorus you ever heard and why?
Also if you happen to have any recordings of the dawn chorus in your area i would like to listen to it. It would be good to see the difference between different countries or even citties.
Personaly even iff Cyprus is my country i think the English dawn chorus is amasing. There is a variaty of birds singing at the same time creating a good atmosphere.
Finally at first i thought that i would post this in the animals board but i decided to put it here because the dawn chorus is something musical for the people who can appreshiate it but if the comunity leaders think that they should move it they can do.

Today 7th of May in England and some other countries is the international dawn chorus day. It happens usualy the first Sunday of May.
In the morning off this day people meet somewhere in each citty early in the morning and they enjoy the dawn chorus and after that they have breakfast together. I never been to one myself but it sounds good fun.
Also i want to describe more the dawn chorus so you can get a better idea of how it sounds like. At about 3:45 in the morning the first birds start singing in my area are usualy blackbirds. Gradually more birds joing and at about 5 we get all the birds singing creating this nice chorus. At about 5:30 just after sunrise the dawn chorus fades out.
